Our Approach

Fairey Associates is different from a number of other financial advisers:

There are three groups of financial advisers in the UK:

  1. Tied – the adviser can only arrange policies manufactured by the company that they work for. Quite a number of insurance companies offer this level of service
  2. Multi-tied – the adviser can only offer you products from a limited range of providers. This is the sort of service offered by many of the high street banks.
  3. Independent – the adviser is able to offer products and services from the whole of the market.

At Fairey Associates we are independent as we believe the only way to best advantage our clients is to seek out the best and most appropriate solutions for you.

We constantly research the market to ensure that the advice you receive is the best it can be and that the solutions we provide really are suitable to your aims and objectives.

Creating a financial plan is an involved process and requires full participation between both the client and the adviser to ensure that we arrive at the most suitable solutions. Some clients know exactly what they want prior to contacting us and other require a review and suggestions to be made. There is no strict process as everyone is different but the process can loosely be defined as follows:

First Stage: completion of a fact find asking a variety of different questions regarding you, your current circumstances, aims and objectives. At this point we will normally agree remuneration and look to take authority over your current policies and investments in order to obtain up to date and detailed information.

Following this meeting we normally produce a comprehensive policy summary report for your and our records.

Second Stage: at this stage we are normally in a position to discuss all the possible solutions for you along with full details as to the possible advantages and disadvantages. At this point we may reach a decision or you may wish to take time to reflect and take information away to read and consider.

Third Stage: By this point you will have decided how you wish to proceed. At this stage we will provide a detailed and personal report for you to read and keep which explains what we are arranging and why.

Fourth Stage: We would look to implement the plan and provide paperwork (pre-completed for your ease) which we would ask you to read through and check prior to signature and return. We would then ensure that your plan gets implemented as smoothly as possible.

Fifth Stage: It is essential that the financial plan serves you not just today but also for the future. At this point therefore we would look to agree the ongoing monitoring and advice process in line with your requirements.
